O-Vee wire thread measuring gauges will easily assist in detecting wear.
The first 1-3 threads of your plug gages will typically bear the brunt of use. Check them for wear by measuring the pitch diameter using an O-Vee wire and a micrometer. O-Vee thread gauge can be used to measure pitch diameter for internal and external threads. Even vertical threads and all without having to hold the wires.
The O-Vee measuring system provides quick, simple, and accurate internal and external measurement of threaded components. The effective diameter is measured over the wires, by a standard type micrometer, without recourse to calculations or reference to tables. The data plate shows maximum and minimum limits over wires, and current tolerances for any specified fit.
All wire gauges are made to order and supplied with an in-house calibration certificate.
